Aeroclub Aviator organises flying activities for its members, combining panoramic views with an introduction to aircraft, flight preparation and the flying experience.

How can you take part in Aeroclub Aviator’s flying activities?
The first step is to learn about the club, its membership requirements and the activities we organise. Before applying, read our frequently asked questions about scenic flights and flying, where you can find information about preparation, the flight experience and participation.
To join, complete the membership application form. You will then receive payment details for the annual membership fee. Membership fees support the association’s activities and objectives, including giving members the opportunity to experience flying over Zagreb or other locations by arrangement. Please check the current fee in our membership fees and flying activities price list. Participation in other activities is governed by the club’s statute and rules.

What is a scenic flight like?
Arriving at the airfield and preparing for the flight
Arrive at the airfield at the agreed time, usually around 15 minutes before the planned activity. Before you board, the pilot will explain the safety instructions, how to use your seat belt and how to behave on board. They will outline the planned flight and answer questions when their preparation duties allow.
Once you are seated, the pilot starts the engine, completes the necessary checks and taxis towards the runway. This part of the experience provides an insight into aircraft preparation and the procedures that take place before take-off.
Take-off and views of Zagreb from the air
As the aircraft takes off and climbs, the landscape opens up below you. During a scenic flight over Zagreb and its surroundings, you can enjoy views of the city, nearby settlements, green spaces and the slopes of Medvednica, depending on the chosen route and conditions that day.
The route is planned according to the weather, airspace requirements and the pilot’s assessment. If you are interested in a particular area, mention it when arranging the activity so we can check whether it can be included in the flight plan.
You may take photos and videos in accordance with the pilot’s instructions. When conditions and workload allow, the pilot can explain how the aircraft operates, introduce the basic instruments and point out features of the landscape below.
Returning to the airfield and landing
On the return flight, the pilot prepares the aircraft for approach and landing. During take-off, approach and landing, follow their instructions and save questions for later so they can concentrate on flying the aircraft.
After landing, remain seated until the pilot tells you it is safe to leave the aircraft. Once the activity is complete, you can ask further questions and learn about other ways to get involved in the club.
Where do we organise scenic flights?
Our main base for flying activities is Lučko Airfield in Zagreb. Activities at other locations are organised occasionally, according to the club’s programme. The scenic flights described below are planned to last approximately 20 minutes, with the actual route and duration depending on operating conditions.
Scenic flight over Zagreb and its surroundings
A flight departing from Lučko Airfield offers an opportunity to discover Zagreb and its surroundings from above. Views of the city and nearby landscapes combine the scenic experience with an introduction to the different stages of flight and basic pilot procedures.
Scenic flight over Zagorje – occasional activities
Zagorje’s rolling hills, villages and green landscapes offer an appealing panorama for flying enthusiasts. We organise activities over Zagorje occasionally, with the flight area determined by the departure point, planned duration and operating conditions.
Scenic flight over Varaždin – occasional activities
We occasionally organise scenic flights for members over Varaždin and its surroundings. Depending on the planned route, flights may include views towards Varaždinske Toplice or Čakovec. The exact flight area is arranged according to the available time and flying conditions.
Circuit flying at Lučko Airfield

Do I need flying experience to join?
No previous flying experience is required to join. The club welcomes both pilots and people who are just beginning to explore aviation. Certain activities may require appropriate qualifications.
How much is the annual membership fee?

You can mention your preferred location when making an enquiry. Whether it can be included depends on the weather, airspace requirements, planned flight duration and the pilot’s assessment.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
If conditions do not allow the activity to take place safely, the flight is postponed. We will let you know about any changes and the possibility of arranging another date.
