Tandem skydiving! How does it feel to jump out of a plane?
Nowadays, tandem skydive is the most common and the safest way to experience skydiving without having to take courses or undergo medical examinations.
All that you will have to do before you skydive is to listen to a short 15 minute briefing during which you will be explained the main principles of skydiving and procedures.

Below you can find the most important information concerning the skydiving tandem
- You will be doing your skydiving tandem with one of our tandem instructors. Tandem instructor is a specially trained skydiver with many years of experience. Our instructors are holders of national licenses issued by the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency, as well as American licenses issued by the USPA.
- While doing tandem skydiving, the passenger is harnessed into special straps which allow the passenger to be connected to the instructor. Every clip can hold up to 2200 kg.
- For tandem skydiving, a skydiving parachute is safer, bigger and can hold much more than regular sports parachutes. Every tandem parachute is mandatorily equipped with automatic activation device on the reserve parachute. This device will activate the reserve parachute in case of main parachute malfunction if the instructor did not react in time.
- Before doing your skydive, you will undergo a short briefing where the basics will be explained to you, like information on various phases of skydive, body position in freefall, how to land etc. After that, the harnesses will be put on you and you will go toward the aircraft.
- The flight to the jump altitude will take 15-20 minutes and that depends on the type of aircraft used and the jump altitude for which you decided for. That part will most certainly be interesting because you will see beautiful landscapes above which you will shortly fly and freefall and you can get to know your instructor who will be happy to answer all of your questions.
- The freefall lasts for about 30 seconds if you are skydiving from 3000 meters and up to 60 seconds if you are skydiving from 4000 meters.
- Opening of the parachute is executed at 1500 meters above ground and after that you will fly under the parachute for around 10 minutes. You can fly peacefully but if you prefer, your instructor can give you an adrenaline ride. Whether you will use the flight to make a few good shots for your video or you will furtherly raise your adrenaline levels is entirely up to you.
- After landing, you will return to the place where you have been preparing for the skydive and your instructor will remove the harnesses from you.
Questions and answers about tandem skydive
What kind of skydive do you recommend?
Tandem skydive is a perfect way to experience skydiving without having to undergo special courses and training. If you do not wish to become a licensed skydiver, a tandem skydive will be the most suitable way for you to experience freefall and flying in the shortest time possible.
Are there any limits for tandem skydiving?
There are some limits. The tandem passenger has to be at least 14 years old. All the minors who wish to do tandem skydives must have written consent from a parent or guardian. If you have some illnesses which might be of importance for skydiving, it is necessary to contact your instructor. He will advise you if you shall obtain written consent from your physician, if he is able to perform the skydive or if he is positive that your condition will not be a problem. There is no maximum age for skydiving.
Are there any weight limits?
There is a weight limit of 110 kg. Candidates over 100 kg have to pay an additional fee.
What health conditions are not suitable for performing a tandem jump?
Conditions that are not suitable include epilepsy, head injuries, often fainting, meningitis, high blood pressure, cardiac or pulmonary illnesses, dislocated shoulders or any of the extremities, diabetes, mental problems, drug or alcohol dependency etc. If your medical condition implies any of the above, please consult your doctor to get written consent for the skydive. Due to safety reasons, your tandem instructor has the right of a final decision to take you skydiving.
Is physical disability a problem for skydiving?
Physical disability is not necessarily a problem. Tandem skydiving has allowed many people with disabilities to enjoy skydiving. Feel free to contact us. Due to safety reasons, your tandem instructor has the right to a final decision to take you skydiving.
I’m wearing corrective glasses/lenses. Is that a problem?
No. Skydiving goggles are worn by all skydivers and they will protect your glasses/lenses and will keep them in place.
What if I am afraid of heights?
This is a very common question. Many people who decide to skydive believe that they have fear of heights. We are all born with the knowledge that height is dangerous which does not necessarily mean that we are afraid of heights. If it is so, you probably wouldn’t be reading this text, let alone thinking about skydiving. If you do not feel fear during flying in commercial airplanes then you probably won’t have any problems with skydiving. We would like to remind you that you are connected to an experienced skydiver who will make sure that everything goes as planned.
Can you breathe in freefall?
Yes. The speed during freefall is around 200 km/h but the air does not enter the lungs at that speed because it is slowed down by the mouth and nose. The oxygen pressure at the altitude of the jump is still normal.

How can I book my tandem skydive?
The easiest way is to book online. All that you need to do is to fill out and send a booking form. Afterwards, you will be contacted by our staff to arrange the time, place, payment, and other information. We advise you to book as soon as possible. It would be ideal if you could book 4 weeks in advance, a week is a minimum.
Do you have gift vouchers?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available and you can give them to your friends, family or loved ones. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and there is no refund for vouchers that have not been used. The vouchers can be transferred to another person and can be extended for a year for an additional fee. They can be bought at Aviator gift vouchers.
What if the weather does not permit the skydive?
All aviation activities depend on the weather. Rain, low clouds and strong winds are the main causes that will not allow us to jump. If it would be so, you will book your skydive for another day without additional fees. Feel free to contact us the day prior to the skydive so we can advise on meteorological conditions. What should I wear for the skydive?
Depends on the part of the year. During wintertime, you should wear a few thin but warm layers of clothing. During summertime, you can wear a sweatsuit. In both cases, you can decide to wear a skydiving suit over your clothes. You will also be equipped with goggles and gloves. Sneakers are the best choice of footwear. Flip-flops, open shoes and sandals are not allowed.
When should I arrive at the airport/jump location?
You should arrive at least half an hour prior to the skydive.
Can I bring friends or pets with me?
There are no limits. If you are bringing children with you, make sure that they have constant supervision. Alcohol beverages are not allowed at the place of preparation and execution of the skydive. Pets are allowed but they also have to be supervised and shall not move around skydiving equipment.
Is skydiving safe?
Thousands of people perform skydiving every year. Skydiving is an adventure sport and as such includes certain risks. But on the opposite of sports of the same nature like skiing, climbing, scuba diving, paragliding, and even everyday sports like football and tennis, there are far fewer injuries and accidents. Nowadays, skydiving equipment is constantly developing, especially concerning safety. We could say that skydiving is one of the safest extreme sports.
What happens if the parachute does not open?
The answer is simple. All the skydivers have the reserve parachute. If for some reason, the main parachute malfunctions or if does open correctly, the instructor will deploy the reserve parachute. There is also an automatic activation device whose role is to open the reserve parachute if the instructor, for some reason, fails to do so.
Can I have a video of my skydive?
Yes. There is an option to have your skydive filmed. You can have both photos and video. In this case, the instructor will wear a camera on his left arm and will film you while in the plane, freefall and flight under the parachute, all the way to the landing. If you want even better footage, there is an option to have an additional skydiver who will skydive at the same time as you so you will have a great video that you can later show to your friends, and family and upload on social networks. Moreover, an adventure like this can also look good in your cv presenting you as a person who will grow up to the challenge. If you want an additional cameraman – skydiver, you should mention so while booking your skydive.
Is skydiving available throughout the year?
Skydives can be performed throughout the year but we are recommending the period from the middle of March to the end of October due to better and more stable weather.
